Dry Hair? Not on My Watch

Hi everyone! All the summertime fun-in-the-sun, pool, and ocean possibly really did a number on your hair and scalp. Now that we're in Fall and approaching colder climate it probably wont make it any easier. How can we undo all that damage or at least make it better?

Shampoo and Conditioner

This is the gentlest shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. The shampoo is sulfate-free and so gentle. Has just the right amount of foam without going over the top so it wont strip hair or scalp and is safe for color-treated hair.
The conditioner is light but very moisturizing. It doesn't just sit on top of my hair but rather sinks in and does a great job at living up to its' name. Defines my hair and leaves it sleek and smooth similar to using a silk-based product.
Both are lightly scented.
Price is around $9 each at Costco. Each bottle lasts a significant amount of time.

Camellia Oil

When I want a light oil treatment I turn to Camellia oil. It can vary from a golden yellow color to clear depending on the brand. I find that the colorless version works best on my hair and soaks right in without leaving a greasy residue. I apply a nickle-size amount either before bed and put up in a bun or 30 minutes-1 hour before showering. Make sure to massage what's left on fingers into the scalp.
I can even wear this during the day in place of hair serum because it's not greasy at all in my experience and has virtually no fragrance.

I buy mine from:

Hedys-Haven on Ebay (Not affiliated. Link is for a sample-size bottle)

Argan Oil

I find Argan Oil to be medium-level in terms of the amount of moisture it provides. It's great when I need a little extra moisture without being too heavy. It's just right. Also works as a serum when you use a dime size. I find it works best applied to damp hair. Soaks in like magic and I don't find it builds up.

I also purchase this from hedys-haven on Ebay.
She has the best prices and ships quicky.

Leave in conditioner/mask

I've been using Cantu Shea Soft Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream from many, many years. This is the very best hair mask I have ever, ever used! It leaves my hair so moisturized, soft, and smooth with just the tiniest amount of product. I leave it in for 30 minutes and then shampoo it out. Depending on the condition of your hair, bi-weekly for dry hair and once a month for normal.
It's amazing! Has a yummy coconut smell that I adore.

I purchase this at Walmart in the Ethnic section for $5-$6. Also available at these retailers.

In order to protect my hair, I always wear some sort of treatment in it. In my opinion it's a better idea to take care of your hair before any damage is done because it can sometimes be difficult to undo.

Hope this was helpful!

Kisses on My List ($34; $90 value!) is a limited edition full-size lip-gloss set that includes three sheer shades, and three Hypercolor shades. Hypercolor is exclusive to Anastasia and reacts with your skin's chemistry to stain lips and create a custom shade. Really a fantastic value as each gloss is $18 and .

Those of you who love tacky glosses will love these, they are not shy and will stay on your lips whether-you-like-it-or-not.
All the shades are really pretty I think would compliment any skin tone.

Eat Your Way to Healthy Skin

Hi everyone! I wanted to share what I had for breakfast. It's one thing to talk about what I eat like I did in this post, but another to actually show the amount I consume.
Everybody is always trying to achieve beautiful, glowing skin. A new product here, and new product there. It's actually so simple to achieve, in my experience, it should be criminal that I didn't do this sooner! Better late than never, though! Definitely so much cheaper than trying product-after-product. Just eat better! You are what you eat, I cannot stress that enough.
This coming from a Mexican that used to only consume vegetables when they were in a salsa, or fruit that was on top of ice cream. Oh Lord! Shaking my head...
I want you all to be as happy as I've been since I changed my way of eating.:)
Even my hair is growing thicker, shinier, and with lots of body. Not bragging, but rather telling you what you could also have! Not saying your hair isn't already fabulous, of course!

What I had for breakfast:

Mango, green grapes, strawberries, and blueberries.

I loooove fruit. LOVE it. Cannot get enough of it.
Always make sure to sip water after eating fruit to wash away any fruit acids left behind.

I snack all day so I'm rarely hungry for lunch, which is why there's no picture of what I would typically have for lunch.
My usual snacks include: baby carrots, raw almonds, smoothies made with almond milk, a glass of rice milk (Rice Dream is my fave. Contains the infamous B12 vitamin and is Vegan), or if I do get hungry a wrap made with: Vegenaise, lettuce, and sliced Tofurkey)

Dinner:

I got this recipe off YouTube and have been having cucumber tomato salad for weeks simply because I love it. I cannot get over how delicious this is. Sometimes I have it for lunch AND dinner. I love it that much!
Here I added celery and bell pepper to experiment and it was yummy. I start by slicing the cucumbers with a potato peeler to look like fettuccine, either cherry tomatoes or sliced tomatoes, topped with a homemade dressing.

I make it using:

1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
dash Himalayan Pink Salt
dash black pepper
dried basil

So simple but SO good. If you like light dressing like I do, you'll adore this.
I know what you're thinking: "Sonia, you are straight-up cray, cray! How in the world does this fill you up!??" HAH, joke's on you!  It actually does!
It's so filling that I only need to use half a cucumber; strange but true!
I've noticed a boost in the hydration of my skin ever since I started obsessing over this salad. How could I complain? #WINNING
If I'm not having my wonderful salad I'm having stew made with: beans, lentils, and/or quinoa (this is where I get my protein, the other thing you were wondering about;P).

Hope this post was helpful!

Anastasia Beverly Hills She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette

Hi everyone! She Wears It Well is a stunning (and I mean stunning) nine shadow neutral palette that contains both cool and warm shades. It's a Sonia palette through-and-through! I don't think my HG Naked 2 palette is going to get any of my love for awhile.

The texture and pigmentation is wonderful, especially the mattes; I thought they were cream when I first swatched them - they're so creamy and smooth!
Also: perfect for travel! Contains a black that could be used as either liner and/or brow powder and a medium brown that could also be used as brow powder. Most importantly, for me, it contains a matte nude, It's a must have for me as I prefer a matte brow-bone. A definite must-have!

Trophy, Glow, Latte, Foxy, Sunset, Frosting, Onyx, Almond, and Toffee

Wouldn't expect anything less from Anastasia! So elegant!

Frosting lid to crease, Onyx as liner, and Almond on brow-bone.

Available for $34 for a limited time at Sephora & Anastasia Beverly Hills

Love,

Product sent by Anastasia Beverly Hills for consideration, opinions are my own.

NOTD Sinful Colors Rich In Heart & Tokyo Pearl

Hi everyone! I couldn't choose between Rich In Heart or Tokyo Pearl, so I decided to do an accent nail.
They both are sheer with just one coat and require 2-3 coats. Personally, I like that about Tokyo Pearl (a white pearl), looks lovely and lady-like with a single coat. Rich In Heart is a very shimmery black-based dark red. Can look almost black depending on the lighting. Some may consider it a Fall color and may be wondering why I'm wearing it, but I don't follow what's in during what season. ;P

Any other shades from Sinful Colors I should check out?

Thanks for reading!

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow - Pearl Grey

Pearl Grey ($29 for 0.088 oz.) is a medium grey with subtle blue and pink shimmer. It's not the most unique shade out there per-say but the application is.  It applies and blends like a dream. Not dry in the slightest bit so it makes it easy to wear as a sheer wash in crease (like I do) or a heavier application or full-on for a dramatic look.

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow - Almond

Best way to describe Almond ($29 for 0.088 oz.) is: a medium, greyish, taupe-y tan with just enough fine pinky shimmer. Did I study it? A bit. But how could I not sit there and fawn over its' beauty? To top it off: it has a creamy, buttery feel and amazing pigmentation. Bland is not in Burberry's vocabulary.
If you own any of their shadows, you know about that satisfying 'click'. If not: easily snaps shut or opens right away without having to fuss with it unlike some packaging out there (I'm looking at you 'Made in Taiwan' Edward Bess).  Looks and feels heavy & luxe -- definitely like a $29 eyeshadow should at that price-point.

Delicious, right?
