NARS Pure Matte Lipstick- Mascate

Hi everyone! Mascate ($25) is a breath-taking, bold, true brick red. Very opaque and has no scent/flavor. Those of you who love mattes as much as I do would absolutely love the Pure Matte line. Not only does it last without drying my lips out as the day goes on, but once it eventually starts to fade hours later (after eating and drinking) it fades evenly and beautifully. Highly recommend not only this shade but just the line in general, the formula is stunning. Thanks for reading!

Bobbi Brown Lip Color- Red

Bobbi Brown makes some amazing reds, need to put that out there; they are underrated in my opinion.
I love not only how rich, striking, and elegant Red (yes, that's the name) is, but also the finish: It's a cross between matte and creamy, not totally matte but not a full-blown cream either; just the perfect balance of both. Sephora describes it as a "fire engine red", I must say I do agree. This is an easy to wear no-fuss red that I think would look great on any skin tone. Sigh, I love.

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick- Vesuvio

Sephora's site describes this as a "full-bodied red" and they are spot-on. It's one of the richest and sexiest reds I've come across, darn near perfect. I put this in my basket so fast after I swatched it I almost made a hole in it. It's matte but a long-lasting comfortable matte; not as dry as Ruby Woo. Definitely glad I added this to my collection.

I love you, NARS.

MAC Cherry Lip Liner

Cherry is bright and perfect for Ruby Woo, Russian Red, or any other blue, orange, or neutral bright red. For a more brownish red or a brick red I recommend MAC Brick (matches Viva Glam I perfectly). I wore Cherry today with Brave Red and it suited it perfectly. It stays in place in my experience and doesn't bleed.

Love,

MAC Brave Red

Brave Red (Cremesheen) is a long lasting and opaque neutral red with a creamy finish. Has a tad bit of shimmer to it which is not noticeable at all once applied.

Lipstick Organizer

This hold about 75% of my collection. Hopefully someday I'll find another one of these organizers, but for now the rest sit in my drawer. Someone asked if I organized them by color...Technically I did since they're all red, lol! :)

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick in Brick Red

Hi everyone! Brick Red ($30 for 0.13 oz) is a muted, warm, brownish red. This is the perfect red for someone who's scared of a bright red. It's everything I hoped it would be; pigmented, true brick, long wearing. As you can tell by the swatch it's very moisturizing.

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick in Union Red

Hi everyone! I got a Burberry haul in the mail today. I'm so ecstatic because everything is so lush and beautiful. I wont show everything at once because a lady doesn't show everything right away, so you'll just have to wait. ;P Union Red ($30 for 0.13 oz) is a stunning vampire red; I assure you this is the most appropriate description for this lovely red. It's bright and with ever so slight shimmer. I don't know what the point of it is since I don't see the shimmer on my lips. Formula is moisturizing and opaque with slight aroma. Love the finish, slightly creamy without being uber shiny and driving me nuts.  Packaging is absolutely exquisite from the tube to the box (you have to feel the box to know what I mean). Tube is magnetic, never seen anything like it in a l/s! Just snaps together. I have a feeling I'm gonna be wearing this often.

Included the above pic so you could see how my camera has been freaking out . Turns everything pink.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Red Taboo 18

Hi everyone! Red Taboo ($34 for 0.12 oz) is a blue based dark red. Finish is creamy and moisturizing. Nicely pigmented and lasts a few hours before having to reapply. I do have to reapply after I eat, however, which is always the case for me with any cream l/s. Fruity and I love how it tastes/smells. Unfortunately I'm allergic to something in this. I don't know what but it burns like a mo' fo' for a few minutes, like I have hot sauce on my lips. BUT I don't currrr, I love this l/s. I only have this issue with this shade though, I have Red Muse as well and It doesn't burn.

See why I put up with the burn?

MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense Mat 8

Mat 8 ($19 for 0.12 oz) is a very sexy, very matte bright blue based red. Similar in dryness to Ruby Woo, but glides a tad bit easier and with much more lasting power and much more pigmentation. According to their ad in Sephora's Spring catalog, MUFE Rouge Artist Intense l/s contain 50% more pigment than traditional l/s, and I can say it is totally true. Lasting power of this is just nuts. I can put it on and go on about my day without worrying about touch ups.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense #45

MAKE UP FOR EVER #45 ($19 for 0.12 oz) is a beyond gorgeous raspberry red. Sounds tdf right? Well it is! Not only is the color too stunning for words, the formula is so good it should be illegal. It seriously glides on like a dream and goes on *very* pigmented with zero signs of sheerness anywhere. It wear ridiculously well, too. I applied it in the morning, then went out for dim sum around 1pm and FEASTED. After we ate I went to reapply thinking there's no way i'd have anything left after all that food, to my surprise it was all still there intact. No huay! Definitely the best formula ever IME. Moisturizing, satin finish that I like so much I don't even blot, and smells pretty. I can't wait to get the rest of their reds. There's four more I need to get. Here's the food which it stayed put through. It was for just 2 people btw:

MSG allergy was going strong after, but it was worth it!

It actually outlived all of that! Now THAT'S a lipstick. Onto the swatch. *WARNING* This swatch is NSFW.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense Moulin Rouge #43

Moulin Rouge ($19 for 0.12 oz) is a gorgeous neutral red with a satin finish. Very cream, moisturizing, and opaque. The packaging is sexy and goes perfect with the name, love it! I don't know why I didn't pick this up sooner, but better late than never.;) MAKE UP FOR EVER makes great l/s, they don't play! They know what they're doing! Dany Sanz is a genius. They make lots of reds, which makes me a happy little Sonia.

I have more MUFE reds coming up, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading! :)

Chanel Rouge Coco in Paris

Hi everyone! Paris ($32 for 0.12 oz) is a delicious, delicious blue based red with a little pink throw in. But on me it's a straight up blue red.Truly luxurious; from the formula to the packaging. Verrrryyy long lasting! Here is the list of stuff I ate and drank today and stayed put through (please don't judge me lmao, I can put it away):

Homemade strawberry, banana, and blueberry juice
Ceasar salad
Cold Stone fudge chocolate ice cream cake, BE JELUZ.
Cup of green tea
Then...I went to Pets Mart and took a little break from all the goodies.
BUT WHEN I GOT BACK...
Butternut squash soup
THREE, yes, THREE slices from a huge sub sandwich
Acai juice from Naked
Naked Power-C machine

And THEN I had to retouch. But it was after all that. Fabulous!

Texture: Creamy and pigmented, glides like buttah.

Packaging: Very sturdy and heavy, which is how I like it. If i'm gonna pay $32 for a l/s the packaging better be flippin' awesome. I believe it's made of metal (the black part, gold part is metal) but i'm not 100% sure. Could just be very thick sturdy plastic like their normal packaging. But i'm hoping its metal.

Btw, wanna give a shout out to Biglow for making a mean vanilla chai tea that I cannot get enough of, *sips*. Totally random, I know, but that's how I roll. ;)

Thanks checking out this post! :)

Have you heard? Red is the word!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great weekend! :) Here's my little stash of red glosses. I don't normally like gloss so I don't have too many. These are the only ones I like. They are L-R Carmindy Juicy Cherry (sheer and shimmery), Avon Cherry Liquor (pigmented brown red, no shimmer), Avon Real Red (very pigmented bright red, no shimmer), Dior Little Red Dress (semi pigmented and shimmery), MAC Wicked Ways (semi pigmented shimmery fuschia red) , and MAC Russian Red (pigmented but not as much as Real Red bright intense blue based red, no shimmer). The one I get the most compliments on when I wear It is Real Red. Everyone always wants to know what's on my lips when I wear this. It's so pigmented/thick that I don't need to put a l/s underneath It and It lasts longer and doesn't evaporate like glosses usually do ime.

Same order as above.

Thanks for looking!! :)
